Anyone know the best way to go about painting fins on their cranks? I'm working on a bluegill pattern right now and would like to make it somewhat detailed.

Right now I'm thinking of just trying a stencil and spraying the fin. Then going back with a toothpick and putting lines on each one.

Not sure about fins, I have used an onion sack to paint scales.  I think i would cut out the fin on masking tape, tape it to the crank, and spray.
