They know class when they see it. Funny, they keep calling me Skeet after my seminars but I have to correct them.  ;D

For the pro staff guys, what are some things you do to help? I know of some things, but I'd like to broaden my knowledge so I can do the best job possible.

Without getting into a huge paragraph.  First and foremost, it is a business.  Product knowledge is key. Being able to present the product in a positive way, without putting down another company is huge. There are many staff people out there that cannot keep from bashing someone elses products.  Go look around on various forums, plenty of those guys are around and are staff.

Media outlets are a big thing in the industry. Forums, FB, Twitter...all of that stuff.

And overall, just being professional in appearance and perception.  A lot of the work that is done is not face to face, and perception is huge.  Dont be a total ass when it comes to product comparisons.

There are quite a few other ways to promote as well. Seminars, writing for magazines, blogs, and anything media related.

The biggest thing...DO NOT promote a product you dont use or believe in.  People will see through that in a hurry.  Nothing worse than promoting product X, then getting caught with a boat full of product Y.  You will lose credibility instantly.

OH...and dont jump sponsors all the time. Loyalty still means something to a lot of people.

Hope this helps some.  Feel free to IM, email or even call or text.

The one thing that irritates me as a consumer is when a ProStaff bashes other products, that a lot of times it turns me away from their product without even giving it a try.  Perhaps your lure company does make a good quality jig or crankbait, pitch that lure and why it is a good product.  Bashing another company's lures as your best selling feature is not a good technique...

Well said, couldn't agree more.
