Chitown Rooger

Hi to all,

I currently live in the northern suburbs of Chicago and travel out here on business about once a quarter for two weeks at a time.  I stay in Jarrettsville with family.  This may change due to expanding business opportunities so I may at some point become a MD resident.

After reading many posts on various topics, I can tell you this site is much like the community site I participate in - windycityfishing.com.  I'm looking forward to being a contributor on this site as well.  (Once I learn something about the area.)

I've sold my boat, but have a few pairs of waders as well as a couple of float tubes.  I also have a canoe that is at the family lake house in Land O Lakes, WI which I may bring along at some point.  My passion is fishing - period!  I love smallmouth fishing slightly more than LMB.  In the midwest, we also have Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky and panfish.  I've done my share of reading so I know musky and northern are not an option, but you do have pickerel which I assume you fish for the same way, they just don't get as big.

I've done a little scouting of Loch Raven which is fairly close.  The shoreline I can see from the bridges looks very inviting.  I wonder, is shoreline fishing a realistic option, or do you need to be on the water?  Do they allow float tubes, or do you have to have a boat?  I'm also close to Big and Little Gunpowder Falls Park.

Well, I'll stop for now.  I hope to hear from some of you, and finding some fishing buddies out here would be great.  Any info you can offer on lakes, access points, etc. would be greatly appreciated.  I assure you I'll return the favor.  Not looking for waypoints or anything like that - finding them on your own is half the fun!

Wet line adventures to all and go out enjoy this nice weather!
