Just curious, When you are towing, do you put your motor in gear or do you leave it in Neutral?

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

Neutral. Although I don't think it would matter. Interesting question though?

My concern about leaving it in gear would be storage. If the motor is in gear, the prop won't turn. So a shin or knee accidentally banged against it could end up severely cut.

Neutral, what would be the advantage leaving the boat in gear while towing?

I guess asking if you put it in 4WD is a no brainer if you are trying to tow in neutral.  ~roflmao >:D lo

Seriously my prop is so beat up it probably wouldn't cut ya. I do put the boat in neutral when not in use.

I tow in gear because, believe it or not, my prop will spin in neutral at 70mph behind my truck.

Never gave this subject any thought. Neutral makes the most sense. There's likely to be less damage to the prop, lower unit, and anything it comes in contact with.
