An interesting use for the 735c

Here's a new use I didn't think would work. I call it finesse punching. 3/4 oz 2/0 Tokyo rig with a finesse trd. Sounds crazy but this rod is money for it

I like the concept! If I ever get to go fishing again I'll have to try and remember this.

Crazy sounding I know and I also know finesse and punching is an oxymoron but the champ 735 does it sooooo well

I take it you're punching that vegetation in the back ground :-* How well does the Toko rig slip through it? Would you say better than the same sized tungsten?

Honestly yes. The trd worm and 2 3/8 worm weights instead of flipping weights it comes through very easy especially with 2/0 hook on it. When the wire leader bends it will hang up a little but easy to bend it back. I have a dx 795 and 746 but doing it on the 735 just feels right for a more finesse presentation and the x fast taps the backbone quick for that power but has enough touch where they won't throw the Tokyo. Also you don't have to worry about the weight blowing the mouth open
