Well Dawg I didn't win my Keel Shield but after some friendly banter and a bit of bartering and swapping I did managed to get a new Keel Shield from Basser Jim who did win it here on Ultimatebass.com.

I sent in my color and size request along with the certificate provided by our very own Mother Nature and with in a few days I had a brand new bright red Keel Shield delivered to my door.  I let it sit for a bit, trying to get my boat cleaned up and was a bit intimidated on the install.  After rereading the directions several times & finally washing my hull Danielle & I put it on my boat last night, & it looks fan-freaking-tastic!  Thanks KeelShield!  ~c~

I would recommend that anyone doing this, just take your time, follow the directions and enjoy your self.  It was an easy application, and the results are outstanding.  I got up under my boat and had no idea how many nicks and scratches I had put on my baby until last night.  With this product I know my bottom will be better taken care of from now on.

Here are a few shots of how it looks

The red tape on the trailer was pulled off the back of the 3M side of the KeelShield.  I didn't even notice I forgot to pick it up until I checked the photos.   lo

I'm getting a KeelShield when I grow up.
The early bird may get the worm, but it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Okay folks!  ATTN!

I won the KeelShield in the Tackle Giveaway last month.  I was very happy to do so, 'cause the wife has a lock on the budget and I don't have a key.  I received mine in about 4 days over the weekend.  Triton1a helped me pick a size (six footer), and I chose royal blue to match my carpet.  I was surprised but grateful it arrived so quickly.  I wanted to install it before I headed home for the weekend.

Installation was pretty simple, though I know I did not do a perfect job.  T1a mentioned something about 3 beers and an hour of time, but I didn't have any beer and it took me closer to two hours.  It wasn't all that difficult safe for being under my boat for two hours.  Thats more a function of my big belly than the Keel Shield.

I ended up about a 1/8th of an inch off in centering it.  Having someone else would have been helpful, but I was going it alone.  I think I did alright.  I give myself a B-.  It looks good on there.  I will take pictures of it later.

Thanks Rich and the KeelShield gang!!!

Promised a pic and I now have it....

I think it looks good.  The blue matches up real well, and I did an okay job at installing it I think.  I would have preferred the professionals had done it, but I'm short on $ and time to drive to Carolina to have it done.  Also added a KeelShield sticker to my truck (had to lose the BASS sticker anyhow), and notice the site advertisement on the trailer....suh-weet!

Thanks Rich for your help!

Man that looks great...nice job  ~c~ ~c~  so how many beers did it take? ;) lo

Warpath

Well, unfortunately no beer...I can't remember the last time I had a beer.  Maybe if all the Ohio guys get together here in a few weeks at Lake Erie I'll ice some brews.

I coulda done a better job on the sealer bead, and I still need to get all the wax pencil marks off of there.  Couldn't do that with sealer curing anyhow.

It looks good to go to me.  Really sets off the keel with that blue.  Glad I got it instead of white or off white.
