On my Triton I've got couple of my weather seals coming loose in one of my rod lockers and a back storage compartment. What type of glue should be used on these? I'm not gonna use no super glue as that just doesn't seem like it will work. These are tube shaped seals and were glued down when built and sit on top of the edges of the lockers. They are not the kind that has a slit in the side where you can insert into the edge of the locker. Someone told me to use 3m weatherstrip adhesive 8001 but would like some more opinions first. Thanks

I would use an epoxy resin. You can get it at wal mart. Some come in a syringe. Just shoot it in a disposable container, mix together and apply. You can apply with a small paint brush.  It will set up hard as a rock and will hold stronger than any glue. Also if you can, lightly sand the area you want the weather stripping to stick to. This will only help the epoxy adhere better.

I would use the 3M clear weatherstripe glue. I have just it for years on automotive door an trunk seals, just apply a small bead and contact to two parts togather then pull them apart to let air in and the stick them back in place to dry. it takes it a good 8 hours to dry.

You'll probably be happiest with 3M™ Yellow Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive, PN 08001. I've used it for years to attach moldings, trim strips and of course weatherstrip to vehicles. It's a thick, yellow liquid in a tube. It can be applied direct from the tube or preferably brushed on. You can usually find it at any auto parts store.

Be careful to only use the genuine 3M stuff... I just read a discussion in a Corvette forum about another sealant (Dynatex brand) that took the paint off the door on some guys 'Vette. After he read the tube, he saw that it warns, "Do not apply to painted surfaces." -- yikes.

If you prefer a black adhesive, you can use 3M™ Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive, PN 08008 instead.

I also recommend 3m and if you don't like black or yellow they also have it in clear #08061 plastic and emblem adhesive that we also use for everything under the sun in the auto world

I got a tournament tomorrow in 70% thunderstorms and 35mph wind and Sunday is suppose to be blue bird and warm. Fun Fun...
