With all the "smart gauges"available why do the boat manufactures bother with a speedometer?

Believe it or not, there is alot of people that has boats, that don't have a gps to see the speeds they are running ! Plus just think about it, if you bought a new Bass boat, and even though you were adding a gps, wouldn't you think, your charging me this much, and this thing don't evem come with a speed ometer.
