New Tallon will arrive monday. Any advice on mounting it? Looks like I may need longer mounting bolts to attach it to my jack plate. Do they need to be extra strong?

I would use grade 8 personally

Which plate do you have? I didn't have to get longer bolts and we didn't have to with Rob' s when we put his Talons on. Find an extra set of hands, sure makes it easier! ;)

I have a slide master. Got bracket today, included all hardware, longer bolts as well. No problems went on in about 20 min. looks great very sturdy. Simple instructions including how tight for bolts (50)ft/pt. Expect the Talon to be delivered Monday, guess I won't have any more excuses for not catching fish.

Make sure to let me know what day you want to work on this and I will come over after work.  May even use it as an excuse to take off a little early.

I really like mine. Just be sure to lube the pulley's and slide at least monthly with some WD40. Also, if possible, deploy it all the way to the bottom once in a while in some deep water to help keep it clean.

Talon was delivered today, Got talon slide mounted, need to decide on how high to mount on bracket. It says at least 4in above bottom of boat think I will mount higher doint want to allow it to drag thru water when runnning.

You won't be at 4". It'll be well out of the water when you're on plane.

Fiinished wiring talon and tested it. Works perfect and gives a nice chirping sound when key is turned on when pole is down. I am sure I will test that for real when on the water.
