Oh boy....she's a hoss....Took her out on Toho, ran about 40 miles.  Filled up afterwards (and this also includes a prior trip of about 10 miles) and put 10gals in it. ;D  4 trips total and my oil tank level has barely gone down.

The good news to me....A few trips ago I turned it to 5200 at 72.5.  That comes to 5.5% slip with the 1.86 gear ratio figured in and the 28Raker2 prop at 29 since it is cupped.  Yesterday I turned it to 5500 but didn't have the gps on.  I have not moved the jackplate (and can tell by the handling it is way too low) and haven't touched the prop yet (bone stock 28 Raker2).  At 5500, I still had plenty of trim and pedal to play with and could have turned it higher.  I had about 45 gals of fuel, a passenger (about 200lbs) and a full fishing load.  Plug that into a calculator and you get:  76.7mph.  Wonder what she will do when I get her set up? >:D

Yessir Mr RoddyRude.....I did and still do but I LOVE Bustin AB's chops more!!!! :roll2: :roll2: :roll2: :roll2:

I will tell ya one thing that the Garagemahal gang can verify....
Evinrude's lower units cannot hold a candle to Mercs!!!....

Bout six months ago I hit a stump (go figure) and I thought for sure "there goes ANOTHER lower unit".... If I'd have hit that stump with a Rude lower unit there's no doubt in anyones mind that it would have been toast and I wouldn't have even made it back to the ramp.... As it is now the shaft is noticibly bent and I've been running it with no problems or vibrations. Even took it to Okee fishing!!!....Made me a believer in Merc L/U's!!!.... I did have my Mech look at it and he stated that he could try and straighten it but that could also weaken the metal and cause premature failure...so he said 6 of 1 or half a dozen the other.....

Either way I'll still be able to WAX AB with my Merc, ESPECIALLY in a stump field!!!!!  ;)~roflmao ~roflmao ~roflmao

Yeah old man, we'll see whos laughin when I get off my lazy arse and drag this thing north....I had 10 3600 boxes full, 8 rods, 3 small plano boxes, a stereo, cooler full of drinks, and the livewells about half full (forgot to turn the valves to recirc  ::) ) and 45 gallons of fuel.  I remember that Merc of yours...I'm not skeered of it.   >:D

Taylor, I stayed on Toho all morning.  Cuaght some at the mouth of Gobletts Cove, then hit Friers Cove, Southport, and Shingle Creek with nada in any of those spots.
