On 10 Sept, TCTC had 15 teams fish the beautiful weather on Hosston. 60* at launch and 82* at weigh-in with North East winds at 5-10 mph.
Fishing was tough with periods of rapid active feeding. Several teams claimed they would fish for a couple hours without a bite and then catch 2 or 3 in a 10 min time span. Baits were varied from worms, beavers, tubes and traps. Most of those who found fish stated they were near the middle of the lake, while those who pounded the bank struggled to find biting fish.
This tourney put TCTC over the 1000 pound mark of total fish weighed in. (1040 pounds) Congrats to all.

One thing we need to discuss is our choice of lakes for next month. I know the club voted on Bistineau, however I was reminded of our safety bylaws. As well as last time we launched out of the Port when the lake was low, it cost some folks their lower units.
I'm not changing the tourney right now, but it is under review by the executive board. Our next tourney is 1 Oct, which is the same day the gates are scheduled to be closed. Everything depends on water level and safety of our fellow anglers.
Andrew, Chip, Steve, and I will meet up to discuss the issue.
Please post your thoughts pros/cons to our next tourney here. This is were we hash things out and discuss things, so make sure you are heard. Just keep it positive, we don't need to make fun of our President for not fishing.

Ok here's the results:
1st - Brent Glover and Brian Bradshaw  w/15.22 and big bass 5.82 :toot:
2nd - Robby and Wayne Horn   w/15.01
3rd - Russ Jeardoe   w/12.06

Congrats to the winners!

One last thing, we will be looking to have our annual Eat-N-Meet coming up next month. Think of some places to have it and a date. Also, I'll start a thread for topic discussion. This is your chance to bring up and vote on rules and the way the club is ran. If you don't show up and voice your opinion, don't complain. Our club continues to grow due to good rules and great people.

Russ,

If people truly lost their lower units or etc. the last time the club fished it when it was low, I really don't want to fish it when it is low as I do not know how to navigate that lake well.  I am open to fishing anywhere and am not picky, I just prefer not to tear any gear up or risk safety while trying to fish a lake when it is low.

It's safer then the red river and has less stumps

The last time I was referring to was when GEO hit a stump leaving the Port.
I'm good either way because if I don't know the area, then I idle with my motor raised a little.
The Exec board will have to discuss this one and hopefully make a call sooner than later.
