Lower Samish River to re-open to fishing

Action: Re-opens the lower portion of the Samish River to fishing.

Effective dates:  Nov. 4, 2017.

Species affected:  All species.

Location: Samish River, from the mouth (Bayview-Edison Road) to the I-5 Bridge.

Reasons for action: WDFW previously closed this section of the Samish anticipating the number of returning fall chinook salmon may fall below what was needed to meet egg take goals. The department is re-opening the river to fishing now that fall chinook broodstock collection needs have been met.

Other information: Fishing seasons revert back to permanent regulations as listed in the 2017-18 Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet, which is available online at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations/.

Information Contact: Mill Creek Regional Office, 425 775-1311.
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?
