I have a nickel size chip in my gel coat right where the 2 colors meet on the side. Its where the silver stripe down the side meets the top white part of the side. I would like any ideas on what to use, how to do it, tips, etc...

Thanks,
Mitch

I can tell you what not to do.  Don't buy the junk BPS sells in the single tube as "gel coat repair".  You can scratch it off with your thumbnail.

My boat is old and I am not concerned with cosmetics, but for the small chips (dime and smaller) I just fill them with fiberglass.  Chop the fibers and mix it with the resin, spread it in and sand it.  This will NOT match your colors, though.
The early bird may get the worm, but it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.

I was looking at the kit they sell at BPS because it says you can color match it. I don't want to put junk on it and make it worse. Thanks for the input.
