I have just received my set of Powerpole foot switches. Just curious to know where you guys have positioned yours on your front deck for maximum usefulness and without getting in the way.

Damn good timing Korea..... I am getting the same foot controls for my boat for my birthday next weekend. My current plan is to install the down switch on the left side of the trolling motor foot pedal since I use my right foot to control the trolling motor 99% of the time & the up switch on the other side. Yeah I fish off the front port side so having the down switch there seems the most logical.

I will install them towards the front of the TM pedal so they're out of the way but accessible

I was thinking along the same lines as you, but with the down button on the right side of the pedal as that is my dominant foot.

I would love to see some photos of other folks' switch positions  ;PHO)

My right foot is the dominant foot too but since I fish off the front left I want the down switch there. IMO the down switch is more important than the up switch

Okay, I sweated this for hours......

Put them both to your dominant side of the pedal. If you are like me and do a lot of work up on the front deck, having them both on the same side and next to each other works great. Your brain gets used to which is which, just like working the trolling motor pedal, turning left and right from the same spot.

I would imagine putting one on each side would work too. The brain figures it out pretty quickly.

Thanks for your input Mike, and it did make sense.
However, what I did end doing was laying the switches out loosely on the deck and played around with positions and foot strength and came up with this position. My front deck is quite narrow up front and in this orientation I will have the best use of space especially with rod set-up laid out on each side of the deck whilst fishing.

Looks good, let us know what you think after you get some time. I'm sure it will become unconscious but it will be curious to know how it feels on the water.

Here's how I installed mine. Saturday while fishing I "what if'd" them a couple of ways and this seemed most logical

I don't have a photo of mine but I did them basically opposite of you WTodd. Works for me.

I was fishing over water depths of 30 ~ 60 feet over the weekend, so they didn't get used a great deal   lo
I will say they never got in my way during fishing. They wil get a good test on the river in the next few months as I'll be fishing some shallow water as the temps rise.

Your install looks great. I could not have put mine that far up as my deck is not that wide up front, and my rod butts and reels go in that spot.

My rods go on the other side and I fish on the left side

When I get on and off the boat I do it on the right front so I didn't want to accidentally step on them so the left front made the most sense for me

Same here. I moved mine a couple of times until I got them far enough up and left so I did not accidentally step on them.
