Fished all summer here in South Florida, sweat my butt off and dealt with high water all year. Well the water dropped finally in a few locations I fish at and wouldn't you know it, I slipped on some slime on the boat ramp, fell like a ton of bricks and broke my right leg in two places. So now I'm in a cast and the weather is starting to get nicer. Now I'm stuck in my damn chair for another three weeks.

The moral of the story is when the water is down and it's still dark out, watch out for the slime !!!!!   ~xyz

Prayers buddy.
I did something similar several years back and busted up my shoulder pretty good. My partner beached his Ranger on the ramp, I grabbed the gunnel and went to throw my left up, in the same instant my right foot slid under the boat. It hurt pretty good for most of the summer. Nothing as bad a broken leg though.

I have bit the dust on several ramps that were slimy as hell getting out of the boat.  Even got the back wheels stuck in slim and couldn't get the boat up the ramp.  Had to get help from guys pushing.  Wore Crocks for a while but they were horrible on slime.  Found some cheap boat shoes at Walmart that were surprisingly good on slimmy ramps.  They were recommended on line as good slim shoes.  Hope you recover quickly!

Sorry you broke your leg. That had to hurt. Three weeks will go by fast,Maybe they would put on one of them walking cast or you could take the heel off a shoe and make your own.  ;D

know it's not in a 'guys' vocabulary.  and if it were, those with service had it stomped out.

slow down.  do it right.  do it safe.

Sorry to hear about your accident.  I've seen it happen before.  Hope you heal quick and get back on the water.
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

DonM

I'm sorry to hear about your injury.  I've slipped like that before loading or launching.  That's one reason I'm afraid to go fishing by myself anymore.  If I fell I would be in real trouble.
I hope your leg heals quickly so you can get out there and start catchin'!

The ramp at the Holey Land is a notorious for being slimy and slippery.  Could this be where you bit the dust?  Be extra careful out there.

That's a dangerous ramp if you're not careful. Always has slime whenever I launch from there.
