Long hours gotta count for something

Lots of overtime hours this summer have really limited my fishing time. Besides it feeling good to be back to work after a few months of COVID timeout, the overtime does pay for a few toys for the boat.

I picked up a new Ultrex 80 to replace my Fortrex. With the wife enjoying kicking my butt dropshotting, and the ability to spot lock anywhere for a quick break or re-tie it was a much needed upgrade. Loved my Fortrex but in one outing with the Ultrex I cant imagine being without it.

I also picked up a new Bow roller setup. The original on my boat was small, and didnt do a good job of protecting the point of contact. I had read about the Stoltz Rollers being a nice upgrade and I was pleasantly surprised at how much better it fit the bow. Not very high tech but I like it just the same.

Lastly, I decided I needed to do something about protecting the keel of the boat, I ordered a Megaware Keelguard for it. I just have to pick up some alcohol and I should be able to do the install this weekend.

Next on the list are the electronics upgrades but again there is too much information out there, and every time I think I have it narrowed down something else pops up and changes my mind. Sooner or later Ill pull the trigger on some graphs, it sucks trying to fish offshore structure with an Ipad and Navionics when the GPS in the tablet isnt very accurate. At least with the remote I can sit in back and see the screen on my lil hook dash unit!

Nope. I went with the US2. It was cheaper and I'm leaning toward a mega 360 on the front.  I am doing this all out of order as I still don't know what kind of electronics I may or may not end up with.

Awesome upgrades. The Ultrex goes without saying but even the roller is huge. Especially in my part of the country, very easy to over drive a small roller on flat ramps. One has to give enough gas to move up a trailer yet not jump the small roller...

You'll love the Keelsheild as well. I enjoy the ability to pick up my partner for the day on the actual ramp. No mud or sand in the carpet when there isn't a dock or it's full.

Exactly my thoughts as well. Being able to beach it without worry will let me fish a few more places with no concrete ramp and no dock.

I love my M360. You will need at least a Helix 10 to run it. You can buy it CHO  (control head only) and save a few bucks that way.

Nice!

I am leaning towards exactly that, a Helix 10 on the bow for the M360 and a smaller one on my dash for nav and some side scanning.

Cool. I would go with at least a H9 MSI. Anything smaller and you can't network or add mapping chips.

H10 CHO and M360 on the bow networked with a H9 MSI with an ethernet cable and 2 Helix adaptors is going to be around $4k total.

I just went through all the research on the Birds when I did mine so PM me with any questions.
