Drop shotting is the next technique Id like to add to my arsenal.

But unsure of a good all around hook size.

Also would the VMC Spinshot hook be a good option?

I haven't used the Spinshot, so I can't give any feedback there. I use a 1/0 Berkley Fusion 19 drop shot hook. I have a great hook up ratio with it, and it's a great hook at a solid price. I have never had a problem with line twist, so I haven't felt the need to try a Spinshot. Good idea though.

The hook size will be determined by the bait choice.  However, most of the popular baits out thier will match up with a size 2 or size 1 respectively.  If you drop shot smaller tubes or a bait with a thicker head the 1/0 might be required.  This should apply to Owner Mosquito, Gamakatzu Spli shot-Dro shot or Trokar drop shot hooks.  I would think the Fusion would be consistent.

The spin-shot design set ups are more about convenience than function.  Learn to tie the Palomar knot and run the dropper back through the hook eye and your good to go.  It's cheaper too.  There's hundreds of Youtube videos to learn this rigging.  The drop shot is one of my top two confidence techniques.

I have been using the Spin Shot hooks for years and I love them. I use them in size 1 and 1/0.

It's kinda like selecting a hook for Texas rig fishing, match the size of the hook to the size of the bait you are using. A size 1 or 2 is the most popular .

I'm lazy and buy the Gammy pre-tied drop shot rigs with a 1 or 2 and 8lb leader...

zippyduck

Gam octopus hooks in 1 or 1/0 size for bass. Perch fishing in Erie we use the Gam octopus circle hook in size 2.

For most finesse drop shot I use a Gammy #1 Drop/Split Shot hook, they are an excellent hook and when you start buying them in the 24 packs cost effective. If I'm bubba shotting I match the hook to the bait.

Don't tell anyone, they'll take away my fishing credentials, but for the longest time I was using  an offset round bend worm hook because that's what I had in my box.  I don't believe it made much of a difference.  I got some of the BPS hooks to try but i don't remember the size.  Unless you fish one size bait will need different size hooks.  I wouldn't drop shot a senko on the same hook as a 3" sluggo

Mainly Zoom finesse worms....

I like the spinning ones from VMC. Allows me to tie a light 4-6lb drop line that will break easily if needed. I just use old lead worm weights not tungsten.
