Got out Saturday to fish some on "Lake Dekalb" (Dekalb County Public Lake) as I like to call it.  Backstory on this lake is that it was drained and reclaimed back in 2014-2016. It has a 13" limit and the management program is working. I caught my PB for the lake last year. Big fish have been caught here too, several 8-9 lbers. That has lead this little 120 acre lake to be HAMMERED the past year or so.

First trip out in my new-to-me 2010 Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW. I didn't have a concrete game plan to start the day. It was 45 deg outside with about 66 deg water when I put the boat in the lake and I just went fishing. Started out on topwater but didn't get any takers. First fish came almost 3hrs hours after i launched, caught it with a Zoom Lizard in a pine tree.

1st fish in my new boat!

20 min later I got the second fish, same technique.

Fished hard for another hour and half and was headed to the ramp when I had a hunch to fish this strip of grass. First cast landed this chunky 18" fish!

As the day wore on it was clear that the wind had took its toll on my trolling motor battery. So I headed to the ramp and loaded up and called it a day!
