At the BASS Nation Championship the winning angler was on board with his Ranger 364 and an old Pro V.  Goes to show you those old boats are great tools to get the job done.  Us old Ranger owners are proud of this.  I also noticed quite a variety of other boats being used with some other older boats as well.  Goes to prove you don't need a new boat to catch fish.

While electronics and such have changed a ton over the years (weeks?) the modern bass boat hull has changed very little since the late 80's. My plan is still to find maybe a late 90's to early 2000's 20' hull, where I'll outfit it modern from stem to stern. Less than half the money from new (and I hope it's an UGLY hull, because UGLY fits me just fine).

And the day that they make a bass boat (depthfinder, etc.) that actually catches bass, I am DONE.

My old 374 is running the lake with a 150 FastStrike hanging on the back. In 2010 the Fishing for Sight tourney had a Bomber with a Chrysler 60 on he back and a 17 lb. MG on the front. It may have gone back to the early 1960's,
Spring isn't that far off, Dale.

I love my 1994 Ranger 492VS, glad to see some winning in the older boats!!

Still many old boats out there competing and once in a while winning. The best part is those anglers aren't making $500-$1000/month boat payments.

There was a diverse collection of boats there for sure. Electronics were not a factor. Willingness to abuse your ride was. Lots and lots of stumps to drive through. Rangers old and new were up to the task.

Just goes to show it aint the boat, it's who is in the boat.
