2022 LJBC Rules and Bi-Laws

Standards
1. All applicable state law and waterway policies apply to all tournaments.
2. All fish must be caught by use of artificial lures only (on rod and reel).

Safety
1. Life vests must be worn while boat is on plane.
2. If contestant's boat is equipped with a kill switch he must utilize it.

Information
1. Member dues are $25 per club member per year. Previous members can sign up at anytime. New Members can join anytime for the exception of the day of a tournament.
(A new member cannot join at the launch before a tournament begins)
2. Invited guests must fish with the member who invited them and are limited to one tournament per year. They must then join the club to fish anymore tournaments.
3. Rules are locked in. If there are any suggestions for rule changes they can be brought up at the January meeting.
4. In the event that a rule is in question, the officers will conduct a meeting to decide whether or not the rule is changed.
5. In the event of a rule violation, the officers present at the tournament will conduct a meeting to decide the severity of the penalty.
6. Angler of Year Award will remain the same as prior year's award. The angler of the year will receive a plaque, $200 cash and a free membership for the following year.
7. Big Bass Award will be presented to the member who catches the season's largest bass. (Angler will receive a plaque and $100)
8. 2nd through 6th place will receive trophies or plaques.
9. Kids are always welcome to fish with a member even if they do not enter the tournament. Kids under the age of 16 can be members but will not be charged a membership fee. Kids under the age of 16 that enter a tournament through the course of the year will receive a plaque at the end of the season.

Tournaments
1. Winning payouts will be distributed after the tournament winners have been decided.
2. A central sign in location will be named at the club meeting prior to the tournament.
3. All tournaments are pick your partner tournaments.
4. Live well checks will be conducted at check in.
5. Intrusion is forbidden in club tournaments. The acceptable distance is 50 feet unless granted permission by the members in the other boat.
6. Trailering allowed only at designated launch blast off time. There will only be one check in site. You may trailer from the official check in site 15 minutes before the start time of the tournament. If there is a weather delay those trailering will leave when the other boats blast off.
7. No one can go past any man-made barrier on any body of water. This includes trailering. (Example would be on the Calcasieu River tournament you would not be allowed to fish south of the salt water barrier or north of the Kinder pump.)
8. All tournaments are team tournaments. Weights will be obtained for both team and individual record keeping. Every member must weigh in individual.
9. We will fish a 9 lake tournament schedule with the 7 best finishes counting toward Angler of the Year standings. We will fish 8 months of the year ( January through August) One month will have 2 tournaments and that month will be April.
10. Tournaments will have a 9 hour maximum time limit. Times will be voted in at the meeting before each tournament. In the case of inclement weather the tournament times can be reduced but only to minimum of 6 hrs. The reducing of time will be voted on at the tournament by those participating.
11. Tournament locations can be changed due to extreme conditions. The officers will determine if the tournament location needs to be changed and where the new location will be. This will only be done in extreme conditions such as high or low water levels. An alternate lake will be chosen at the beginning of the year and that will be the lake we will fish if a scheduled tournament location has to be changed because of extreme conditions.
Tournament Fees
1. Tournament fees per Member ($25 total)
$20 for heavy stringer
$5 for Big Bass

2. Tournament fees per Invited Guest ($30 total)
$20 for heavy stringer
$5 for Big Bass
$5 to club fund

Weigh-Ins
1. All fish must be weighed in alive.
2. The weigh-in will be best five fish for individual weight and then five best fish for team weight.
3. Size will be determined by Lake Rule. There is an 11 inch minimum size limit for the club.
4. A ¼ pound per dead fish penalty will be deducted from total stringer weight. (Also applies to fish weighed in for Big Bass)
5. The official measure board for this club is the Check It Stick.
6. All participants must be accounted for at weigh-in. If someone needs to leave, they need to notify another member or leave a note.
7. Fish must be presented to weigh master in a weigh in bag and each angler must have their fish in their own weigh bag.
8. In the event of a tie:
Stringer: Heaviest bass will decide winner.
Big Bass: In case of a tie for big bass we measure length and then girth to determine winner.
9. If you bring a fish in that does not meet the legal measurement of the tournament than the first time you will be warned and that fish will not be weighed. After a warning any time a member brings a fish in that does not meet legal measurement than that member will be penalized 4ozs and will not be allowed to weigh that fish.
10. Weigh masters will weigh each person's big bass. This way in the event of a tie the big bass will have already been weighed. If a guest has the big bass of the tournament then the member with the next biggest bass will get the points for AOY standings.
11. Once the weight has been declared the angler will sign-off on the weight and can not contest after he or she has signed.
12. Anglers must be in site of the launch by the designated end time. If you are not there at that time you will not be allowed to weigh in. Weigh-in will not start and no fish will be weighed until official weigh-in time.

Points System:
The 2021 points system as pertains to Angler of the Year is as follows:

100pt system:
1st place 100pts
2nd place 99pts
3rd place 98pts
It continues on

You are guaranteed 50pts if you fish a tournament.

Payouts:

We will pay a place for every 5 entries. 1-9 will pay 1 place, 10-14 will pay two places, and 15-19 will pay 3 places. We will only payout up to 3 places.
Break down of payouts:
1 place - 100%
2 places - 60% and 40%
3 places - 50%, 30%, and 20%



Officers will remain in their seat until they elect to resign. If an officer resigns then nominations to fill the seat will be taken at the following meeting. After members have been nominated the club will vote and the nominee with the most votes will take that seat. The president of the club is exempt from membership dues.

* Changes for 2022 were as follows:
We replaced one weigh master and added another so now we have 4 weigh masters
We eliminated the top 10 tournament
We took the money from the top ten tournament and added it to AOY and Big Bass of the year
We changed the trailering rule to give those trailer a 15 minute lead time unless there is a weather delay then they will leave the same time as the boaters
We went from a 8 tournament schedule with counting the best 6 tournaments to a 9 tournament schedule counting the best 7 tournaments. There will be two tournaments in April.
