[No Excuses]

Skipped out of work friday and went to Caney with FIL. We had a good day. Weather was perfect. We did a lot of moving around. Caught a couple off beds and caught a few on my Jerk Worms. When it warms up again next week, the shallow bite should really bust open. I should have moved out and fished some ditches and points, but main focus this time of year isn't catching fish so much as it is catching fish on MY baits I make. Super nice lake with gin clear water, lot's of hydrilla and lots of big bass. There was a 35 sack caught Monday. Saw some big fish cruising around but they weren't locked on beds yet. Can't wait to go back! Oh and fat!!! These fish are as healthy as any I've ever seen!!! Built like smallmouths!

Awesome trip!!! That lake has some MONSTERS in it for sure!! And with that clear water sight fishing should be fun.

I ain't that great at sight fishing. Mainly because my home lake is pretty stained. I don't get to do it much. Caught that first one off a bed on the 4th bait I threw at it. Paw in law got a kick out of being able to watch it.
