Fished our local club tourney on Pines. We could trailer so I started out near the dam as I noticed a lot of baitfish activity- Swirls and fish jumping. Threw a crank some but thought a topwater would work best(even with the water temps only 54°). 2d or 3d cast with the whopper plopper and Bam a 5+lber!! 2 casts later added one around 4. So 2 fish for almost 10lbs in 10 mins I was stoked!! Tried all the riprap I could around the dam after that but went hours with no bites so started hitting other stuff. Hit the docks past the marina there and then went to brushy creek but it was packed. Hit some southern shore rock points then went around the island and fished back in that pocket. Wow just wow I had NO IDEA how many stumps were out there in the area I usually ran wide open. Of course I hadn't seen the lake at winter pool before usually its at summer pool or higher year round. So def be CAREFUL out there- glad I didn't run there in the dark. Hit that pocket and looked wishfully at all the buckbrush and stuff I'm used to fishing that is high and dry right now. Didn't have a bite so ran to Johnsons creek and hit the bridge and marina catching 1 spotted bass on a white 5xd. Ran to alley creek and joined the dozen or so boats there stacked around the bridge. No luck there so hit some points west of alley then ran to hurricane and fished there the last 2 hours. Covered a ton of water fishing the underwater road and then the bridge itself. Caught 2 more spotted bass which filled my limit off the 5xd and that was it. Fought a really good feeling "Treebass" to the boat and was going to swing it in when I realized what it was roflmao!! Finished the day with 5 bites and 5 fish with 12.42lbs and 2d big bass of 5 something and took 4th.

Pic shows what I'm used to fishing!!
And also the full moon. Saw several shooting stars driving to the lake.

Rudy, congrats on the catching there buddy  ~c~  Tks for sharing the trip and those pictures with us also.  Our lakes here  are still at Winter Pool also.   We're forecasted for some serious rain and thunderstorms here this week.  Hopefully the lakes will start filling back up.
