Told you there would be more to come ;D   Opinions please a new boat versus a used boat.  Here is my thinking,  Not sure on the price yet, but looking at a new G3 hp180.  Buy the boat, max out the motor, have the electronics installed you want, warranty, and it's a new boat!!  Used: lower price, more boat for the money, may have to upgrade electronics, stuck with the motor on it, never 100% sure if maintained properly, no warranty, and someone else has owned it.

I like the idea of a new boat but a used boat sounds like a good idea until you run into problems and possibly spend more money fixing things then you would have just buying the new boat.    So what do ya'll think? And if anyone know the price of the G3 hp180 that may help, i can't seem to find a price online anywhere.

What about a boat that is a year old or so?  You will find many dealers have boats that are only a year old (my dealer is actually about to get my boat to sell) that will come with warranties and other goodies.  Mine will have 9yrs transferable on the hull and 6yrs on the motor to the next person that buys it, plus 2yrs left on all on board accessories and the trailer...You can get dang close to new without the new cost...Just another idea to toss around.

Also, with your choices, if you go new.  Be sure to check into what your local dealer services (engine wise) before you make that decision.  BRP announced today that the Etec now will be offered with 3yrs standard warranty and 2 more years additional to bring the total to 5yrs....Not sure of what the other manufacturers are offering right now.

I sure wish that I could afford a new boat but the price of the one that I want is well above 40k, (Ranger Z Comanche), so I am on the lookout for a used one maybe 2-3 years old.

Myself personally I would go with a used one, that is less than 5 years old. ;)

What I mean by new is something that hasn't been in the water, I don't care if it's 3 years old really as long as I can get it modified to what I want and have it all in the final pricing.   A friend of mine just found a great deal on a 2002 lowe that had never seen the water.  a 180z i believe.  new batteries, and an engine upgrade for under 7K!!  It was a showroom boat that the dealer put in the pole barn and forgot about.  I wish I could find a deal like that.

Just found the pricing on the hp180,  I may be looking used as well after seeing that.  23k+    My biggest problem is the front deck,  I need a large deck.  Not only do I like to walk around but I am 6'4" 300lbs.  A large front deck is a must.
