I am not a big braid guy, but I agree.

I have switched most of my rods to Power Pro.

65 lb for heavy slop flippin' and froggin'

50 lb for buzz frogs/toads, pitching, and heavy jigs

30 lb for worms and creatures. light jigs

15-20 lb topwater and small plastics

If needed I will add a leader of mono or flouro, but for the most part have not needed to do this in clear water from NY to Florida.

I have to agree with the power pro on this one.  BK has that on his rods, i am pretty sure anyway, and I was fishing a frog through the heavy weeds and never had any problems

Silver, my spinning rod that you used on Saturday for frogging was loaded with 11 pound power pro and it has been my best frogging line for the last 2 years  :-*

I also have some 30, 50 and 65 pound power pro that I like to use with my Vibrashocks, poison tail jigs and c-rigs  ;D

Makes me think of a statement Ray Scott whispered to me at the 2006 B.A.S.S. Classic in Orlando....

He said, "The equipment these guys use today is unbelievable, they're fishing for guppies with whale gear."

I like power pro ......... for whales.  ~roflmao

There are a few others I use too, they are a little cheaper, but all my ultralights get 20lb, for those bluegill whales.  ~roflmao

i was useing stren superbraid.i was constantly geting birdnest.i thought it was my reel.i switched to power pro and it is like i have a new reel.

I used to sell Power Pro and it was a top seller for sure. Here is a tip that you probably already know, when the color fades, remove off spool and turn it around and tie  new colored end on spool and you are good to go.
Back when i sold it, i used to sell a small gauge like 2 or something, it was pink and for salmon. It is really some tough stuff.

You are so right conniek, I use it for salmon in the freshwater, and those kings push 60-70 pounds in some cases and I have never (knock on wood) lost a fish due to line breakage.  It does not fair too well in the cold saltwater though  ???  have yet to figure out why.
