Bow mounted FF, TM mounted transducer

I've got a Humminbird 525 at my console, but I'd like to get another FF for the bow. Probably another 525 with the trolling motor mounting kit. My question is, how do you get power to the FF unit? Will I have to splice into the TM cables? Thanks!

no you might want to run a new line for it from the fuss panel. A splice is just one more place for something to go wrong when you need it the most!

good point Kal. Plus the feedback noise from the trolling motor will interfer with your FF unless you also put a filter inline. Best to run it's own power to the starting battery on your boat under the dash. FF do not use that much juice(amps) and sometimes I run my trolling motor  battery way down on very windy long days on the water.
