I fished at this pond last week after the rains and the water was like chocolate milk. Today I fished here again and the water has started to clear with 2+ foot visibility. Normally this pond is crystal clear!!

This pond is packed full of bass and as far as I know there are no prey fish. Today the bass were feeding on the surface on the big (3 inch) mating dragon flies and the occassional butterfly that got too close to the water.

The biggest bass I have ever seen or heard of from this pond is only 14" and I have caught a few 14"ers but they are either mis-shaped in some way or are very skinny......but since most of this pond has a depth of around 20 foot, I believe there may be a few BIG Bass lurking and I'm determined to find them  ;D

There are literally 1000's of 6~10 inch bass in this pond and believe that the bigger 14" bass must be feeding on the smaller bass. I should probably start harvesting some of the bass, but I don't think I could make any impact by myself.

A very skinny 14"er....

Some of the many dinks....

It's not unusual to find bass with some kind of sores....
