Hi Folks,
I hope I'm about to open a door for some anglers out there. I have been fishing the El Grande Lures for several months now and I'm here to tell you that the 6" minnows are hot. I have been using the "shad" and the "Tilapia" colors, with either a 4/0 "keeper" hook or a 5/0 hitchhiker style hook, weightless around brush, lily pads, etc. These lures have consistently produced fish in excess of 4-5 lbs range, one of which can be seen in the gallery section of the El Grande Lures website. I have been using a worm type retrieve as well as a slow rolling steady retrieve, both of which have proven effective. Weighted hooks of these types can also be utilized with these lures for deeper action during the heat of the day. The tail action of this bait is like none other that I have ever seen. The movement is more like a swimbait rather than a jerkbait. They are loaded with shad scent and salt to allow for a slow fall. The minnows can be "skipped" under docks, piers, and downed trees with ease. The quality of the plastic and durabilty of the material used in Mfg allows for multiple fish off a single bait. I highly recommend these lures and invite you to check them out as well as the other El Grande baits at www.elgrandelures.com

Skipping is pretty easy with the minnow....Gotta love it

This will be my next bait to try out. I have my wish list for El Grande and seems I just added to it again  lo

Thanks for the reports,
anyone else out there using these minnows yet?

I fish the Bluegill and Shad over here!  They work awesome!  Usually weightless, but the big fish came from a drop shot rig with the bluegill minnow.

The bait 'walks the dog' better than any in its class. And the fall is slow.  Also, have caught a couple using a weighted hook, flipped into lilly pad pockets.  Great follow up for the frog fisherman when the fish strikes and misses!

I love the 6" minnows. Favorite colors have to be Baby Bass, Bluegill, and Shad. These have all been the biggest producers for me thus far. This is one of my go-to baits when the fishing is tough, and I've never been skunked while using it. Allen is right about the great tail action, and I fish them the same way he does. I've also had luck using these on a shaky head! The durability, feel, and color of the Minnows is something you have to hold to appreciate. ~gf

Great report, I have some of the bluegill color minnows, but I haven't had much chance to try them out yet.

I use a 4/0 or 5/0 keeper hook or with a hitch hiker. You can fish em TX rigged or Carolina rigged. Drop shot em. This bait is so versitle that it can be fished shallow, deep, or anywhere in between. Use a weighted hitch hiker style hook for deeper applications.

I use Karl's Football head Jig and the Vibrashock, my team partner uses the Vibrashock ONLY.  I like both in different conditions, I use the Football Jig when fishing around trash and timber, and the Vibrashock in open water, nipping the top of the grass.
