Im trying to hook up my computer after its been sitting in storagefor 6 months, when i turn it on im getting an Error Message: It says Application Error, The application failed to initialized, does that mean something is not hooked up? I think im missing something but i dont know what, any ideas?

It doesn't sound like something that is not hooked up.  It sounds like it is not booting up correctly. I wish I could tell you how to fix it.   :'(

I am sure someone will come along that can tell you  how to manually reboot it.

hey bryan, does it give a hex number after that like 0x######?  If so look up the number on google.  It is probably an  error from a program not loading correctly or something like that.  Let me know if you need any more help.

I googled the Error 0x0000005, and its greek to me? it says to X it out but when i close it nothing else happens? cant click on anything or right clck, im guessing the next step would be to take it to someone and have it done, or use it as a anchor?

Railroad do you have a startup diskthat you can put in the disk drive and use to restore the computer to it's orginal settings.

hey brian i looked around and found this website, their fix was to delete a registry key that seemed to be causing the problem, if you're not comfortable doing this i can maybe walk you through it...http://www.ureader.com/msg/13758239.aspx  If there are no important files or anything like that on your computer you could just use your system disk and do a fresh install of windows, i can help with that also...just let me know.

ok no disk, i have moved so much the last 2yrs i dont know where it is, so can i go buy one?

Eric L.

do you have a label on your pc with the license key from your Operating system? If so you just need to get an install disk for your operating system and use your license key, if not you may have to buy a new operating system...there are alot of options here, just depends on exactly what you want to do.

went to best buy last night and talked to the Geek squad, he said i could contact HP and have them send me a disk that will put it back like the day i bought it, thats what i want to do is just start over.

cool, good luck with that, let me know how HP did with the customer service...they've been really great with the business side.
