So my dad bought a 1980 16ft tuffy boat on an auction with 25hp johnson.  He only wanted the motor for our jon and pretty much thought the boat was junk and was going to throw it away.  after a little closer inspection of the boat.  It was junk.   lo But anyway I decided to take on the task of fixing it up for a prefishing boat.  I started by ripping off the bright blue carpet which wasn't hard.  Then I took out the old transom board that was completely rotted along with some wood off the floor that was rotted. Now I'm pretty much ready to start fixing it up the way I want it to be like.

here is a picture of what it looks like now.   Took the pic on my cell, so its really crap and small.  I'll get better pics tomorrow

The hull hasn't changed much over the year of tuffy and this is what I hope to make it look like.
This is a pic of a new 2009 tuffy interior.

I thought it would work good.  now its just a matter of getting everything squared away and fixed up.  The deck is only about 1ft long and then slopes back so I'm making that come back about 4ft anddrop straight down instead.   I took the transom out by putting a 1" bit with an extension in a drill and pretty much just stirring the old transom up.  It was completely shot, but it looks like I can just drop a new piece of treated plywood in place and trim around the top.  Pretty fast to.  We had it out the first day with a 25hp johnson and got up to 25.5.  Surprising after I picked up the plywood floor and found out how wet it was.  Man that thing as heavy.

If you put the work in it should become a great boat for what you want to do with it

Well I'm layed off right now so I've got plenty of time to work on it  lo  Hopefully my dad will help ouy with the expenses on fiberglass, wood and carpet.  It probably won't get used this year as I don't have a motor or any electronics, but hopefully by next spring I'll have a 25-35hp motor and a minnkota for  the front and that will probabaly have to come out of my pocket since my dad doesn't bass fish and would never use a trolling motor.
