Welcome to UB azbasstard, it's great to have you here  ;)

I am currently working in Korea. Unfortunately I live about 6 hours away from Yongsan, but I do know a few folks that bass fish up that way.
Most, if not all of the water in the Seoul/Yongsan area will still be frozen solid right now, and March will still be a little cool, but the beginning of this year's spawn won't be far away.

I am always online here at UB, so ANYTIME you want or need any info about Korea (fishing or other) please ask me anytime, either here in the boards or via PM (Bassinkorea).

Does Osan MWR still do the fishing tackle tours?

When i was there, we took a tour to four different tackle warehouses/workshops and outlet stores.  Back then, I didnt fish, buit went just for the experience.  Oh what a mistake that was.

Since the new Lew's are MiK, I would go nuts if I could find them wholesale...

The funny thing about that tour was you'd go into a workshop, and there would be hundreds of rods built, and on a table in the corner, was a system for labeling the rods by manufacturer.  I was looking thru the label negatives, and easily saw every rod on the market, then in '96.  They make them, by hand, in a basement in an apartment complex in the center of Seoul, and Adashi paints the "brand" on the blank and ships them to the USA...  You could buy them for $10 right there on the spot.

I'm not sure if they still do that, but I have heard about it. There is a nother member here at UB (Nomad) that lives near Osan, I ask him to stop by this thread to answer.
I'd be very interested in checking these places out  :-*

As far as I know, those tours stopped years ago and none of those places are around anymore (I heard there's still a rod factory somewhere near Incheon which will be close to you).  But, there are plenty of local tackle shops where you can buy stuff, however, I order all mine from the states as prices for Japanese and U.S tackle is quite high.  If you want to buy a Korean-made rod/reel, they are cheaper, depending on what you want but you have to really pay attention to what you're buying.
Me, I like G. Loomis and St. Croix rods, and Shimano and Abu Garcia reels so that tells you where I get mine  :) but your wife may not be as forgiving as mine is when it comes to buying fishing stuff  lo
Osan outdoor rec does have fishing tours now, both for fresh and saltwater; not sure what Yongsan offers.
