I have a 1993 Sprint 286 DC, and the top cap gel is really dull.  The guy I bought the boat from said the 1st owner used Armour All on it, and it stripped the gel off.  Is that possible? It is dull, and a little rough to the touch.  I don't think the metal flake is coming through.  I am wondering if this is a possible sand and buff, or a complete gel job.  I searched the archives, and found a few links to gel coats, but none in the recent past.  Please check out the pics and let me know what y'all think.  Thanks!

I did a rework on my old boat using 1200 grit wet-sanding followed by some polishing compound and then a good wax. The thread should come up on a search.

I would try this in a small area for a test and see how it works. ;)

Thanks for the quick reply.  I found the link about the wet sanding, and I will give it a shot this weekend.  I will post some before and after pics. Thanks again!
