Well, she is an oldie with a lot of blood and sweat in her to bring her back up to date...

1988 Bullet 19V with a 1986 Yamaha 175

She rides in style...

And she fishes too!

It's a great little boat.  Fast for what she is.  Not many 19' rigs with a 175 will run 74 in stock form.  Livewell is huge, with that fuel effiecient hammer on the back I can run about 110 miles at WOT (done it before) and closer to 200 at reduced throttle (4000rpm range).  All that on a 30 gallon tank.  She still turns heads and hopefully will be a competitor this year.

Creel Limit Zero

74 MPH  in stock form  ~sweat  That's fast.   ~c~ ~c~

Yep, the day I tore the motor down I made one last run, trying a new prop.  Turned a 26 Bulletcut Chopper 5950 at 73 one pass, 74 and change the next.  When the motor is back on her, I am hoping to be right around 80ish.... :o

AB, that is an Awesome Bullet, she looks great for her age :toot: You would be very hard pressed to find an 88' model that shines like she still does. I see why you are so proud of her  ~c~ ~c~

Hope you reach that 80 mark, she will definately be top dawg in her class ~c~

Mike, when I bought it she was a basket case.  Not a stitch of carpet left in it, the gel was almost white it was so oxidized, had a 115 Johnny on it.  I ran it a year like that, then started the restore.  Wet sanded the entire rig to get the oxidiation out (everyday for a month after work).  Thanksgiving weekend 3yrs ago I sprayed on the DuPont Imron clear coat.  Once it cured, I bought 24oz premium carpet for it and redid all the carpet, put in new seats, all new wiring and guages, new livewell plumbing, switched the old Motorguide for a MinnKota Maxxum 65, and found a basket case yammer hammer to put on it.  Tore the hammer down to paint everything with good color-matched epoxy paint, then re-assembled it.  First run I blew the motor up...  :'(  Took it to my dealer and had them rebuild it.  In early 04 I had AmeraTrail (the guys that build trailers for Gambler) build me a tandem aluminum powdercoated c-channel trailer with mag rims, sealed lights, disc brakes, and color matched to the boat.  And that brings us to now, getting her ready for her next life as a race boat... ~shade

Talk about some blood sweat and tear ~sweat Well I must say you have done an incredible job with her ~c~

What made you decided to get into motor work yourself? If you took it to someone the first time :-\

Dang, I would be in trouble for sure!!!! If she still floated  that is!!! ~roflmao ~roflmao Louis

Don't think I could float at 3.0litre....But I bet I could float a 2.5...Hmm, maybe I need to build up a 2.5 260 with some JSRE goodies and go take him on.... :roll2:

Mike, the main reason I took it to someone else the first time was that I just plain had too much on my plate to tackle that project at the time.  Plus I liked the fact they were giving it a one year warranty, so if something went wrong with it, it wasn't my problem to deal with.  I was, and still am, very satisfied with their work.  It had a little over 350hrs on it when I tore it down, with no trouble at all from the powerhead itself.  I had already invested so much time and effort in the rig, I was ready to get her out.  Didn't want to spend months waiting on trying to rebuild that thing.  I was heavy into tournaments then also and couldn't have any more down time.  Now, all I do is play so if I'm down a weekend (or three) I just bum a ride with someone else. ;D
