Hey man I've seen your work here and other forums as well and I have to say your painting skills are awesome!! I hope to someday be as skilled as you are. With that being said I'd love to see some more step by step tutorials on how you get such awesome finishes. I'm really impressed with your photo finishes, the bluegill and shad cranks are some of the best I've seen!  :help:

Thanks Mindhunter!!! I appreciate the kind words friend. It took me a while to get where I am at Today, using the airbrush. Patience and dedication is key to becoming a better painter. Practice Practice and Practice as much as you can and you will see your improvments along the way. Be sure to have fun with it and use your imagination as you journy through your painting adventure.

The photofinishes, I can't take credit for. Husky on TU was the one that kindly shared it with everyone. It was great of him to do so. He will always be a friend in my book. Here is a link to his tutorial on how to do the photofinishes. Once again, it takes Practice, practice and more practice to get what you want out of them.

Once Again, Thanks for the kind words!!

I frequent TU as well, husky did put up an awesome tutorial on photo finishes and I've had good success on flat sided baits but when it comes to the curvature of regular cranks I have a devil of a time getting the foil on to my satisfaction. I've tried relief cuts and the foil I'm using is fairly thin, any tips?

BigBassMan

I get the thinnest foil I can find for my smooth finishes. I then take a sharpie and smooth it out to the edges. My early ones were not nearly as nice as the ones I do now. I just kept at it, worked on them until I finally had them, the way I liked them. Patience is key!!
