Hi Guys!  I'm building a baitcaster, and I'm wondering about the wraps.  I'm doing an underwrap and I don't know if you hit it with CP or anything before putting the guide to it.  I've done a mess of fly rods bit never a whooopin' stick.  Any help would be appreciated.  Capt.Havoc

I like to CP my underwraps. It seals them off and kind of puts a protective barrier on them for when you set the guides in place. Also helps protect wrap from the tape you use to hold down the guide foot. Never try to tape on unpreserved guides....you will create fuzz when you peel it off. Also this helps keep the underwrap threads together so when you apply your top wrap it doesn't try to push them apart and cause gaps! These are just my preferences and opinions. good luck with your build!
