Fuel guage question

I just bought a new 2012 Bass Tracker TX 175.  It has a 21 gallon fuel tank.  The issue I am having is that when completely full, the fuel gauge reads 3/4.  When it reads empty, I still have up to 7 gallons of fuel in the tank.  I can see this not necessarily being a terrible thing as it would mean I am less likely to run out of gas on the water.  However I would be happier if it read correctly.  Does anyone know if I can adjust the gauge myself somehow to make it read correctly?  It is a standard Teleflex brand fuel gauge.
Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this and what can be done about it.
Thanks.

Boat fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate.  My gauge will read empty and I still have about 1/4 tank which is still 5 gallons.  Its just something I deal with as I normally top off my fuel on the way home.
That said, I believe that the float is adjustable.  Get an extra gasket before starting.

Had this same issue and took it back to BPS and they re calibrated the Fuel float.  It has to be set just right on the newer boats was what the guys At tracker Marine told me.  On the flip side they said the gauge is ment to be a rough estimate and they would never be able to fix the issue of the gauge saying empty.  The guys that worked on it were able to make it accurate on the full side however instead of seven gallons left when its empty only have three HA!
