~Dwight~

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for coming down, its always good to see everyone.  TCTC did an awesome job on the Chili Friday night as well.  Sure hope everyone enjoyed themselves this year.  Fishing was tough to say the least.  I would expect the official results will get posted sometime tonight maybe.  Basically it boils down to .........
wait......

wait.....

wait.....

The trophy stays in the SOUTH.  5th year straight the LOCKJAW boys takes the title.... I wasn't around for the very first one that was had here on our beloved Calcasieu River (translates to small fish)  LOL  but I think we redeemed ourselves from the first year home loss.  Even though its a long, long, LONG ride home for the tctc guys and gals, as always, can't wait till next year already.  Good seeing old friends and making new ones.

Yours Truly....

Thanks for having us Dwight and all the LJ guys and gals! Had a blast as usual even though trying to find 12"+ fish was a beeotch! lo I always enjoy the UBCS and look forward to it every year! Pass on my compliments again to Jaques(sp?) for the as usual EXCELLENT food on Sat night! Pork steaks, homemade tater salad, baked beans, and dirty rice! Better shut-up, I'm getting hungry again! lo

Congrats to LJ for kicking our butt with a 2-1 advantage! >:D lo Seriously, a well deserved win for you guys!

Already talking about next year and where it'll be held ;).

I'm always game for Toledo but I'm sure TCTC will want something up north next year. We will see.  ;)

Once again I had a great time, drank lots of beer, ate good food, caught a few fish, yelled LOCKJAW,  brought home another third place trophy and got to hang out with good people. Congrats to the winners. Once again its always a pleasure hanging out with our yankee freinds.   ~beer~

Guess I look at it different since we have 300+ miles of travel.  The bend is the best venue. Saves Texas folks license money, has room for us all to fish. "grand Bayou was way too small" .

I enjoy the shootouts, but, I don't see us making another untill we get back on a good venue.  It cost us a ton of money to make the trip, which I can't justify if it's not on a good venue.

Jared LeBlue

Toledo is a great venue and I'm sure we will be back there at some point. Venues that cause a team to travel far will always bring the numbers down. When we went up and fished Bisteneau TCTC had twice the people we had and this year on the Calcasieu it was the the same for them. It's their choice for 2013 and I'm sure they will pick a great lake to fish. The Calcasieu was brutal both times we fished it but both times we had some adverse conditions that caused it to be that way. I can't say I blame TCTC for not wanting to go back there.  ;D  With all the lakes we fish Toledo Bend and the Calcasieu are the only two with cabins so I'm relatively certain when its our turn to pick again it will be Toledo.

Not that I even get a vote...and it will depend on my schedule, but T.Bend really works well for me too (innocent smile as it's only 45 min from my new house)   :-* Of course we could always do it on Cane River Lake...

I need to be clear on the rules here...are the clubs divided by geographic location?  Cause, if so I think I just switched sides.

Who are you going to fish with more during the year, TCTC or LJ, now that you're in yankee land? lo

I've always had a good time at the Bend and wouldn't mind going back. I can see where LJ wants it back there 'cuz that's home water for them too! :)

We heard a lot of comments about having it on the Red next year. Nothing is decided yet so keep the comments coming. We'll take them into consideration.

-Shawn-

I think unless we have it during the heat of the summer the red is too unpredictable.

2 out of 3 times we went it was horrible.

Caney has a state park and cabins and we in shv/bossier don't fish it much.

Now that would be interesting.

Caney would be interesting...The Red is good of course you have to limit Cork to just running the trolling motor at the launch - and no rods over 5' that should keep things even on the Red... lo

BassBUFF

We'll look into Caney, TB, and the Red and see what our best options are. Thanks for the input guys! ;)

Caney/campti/ darbonne/  all lakes that both clubs don't fish much.
