Friday, January 13

Water temp was 52-53 degrees. I was only out for 3 hours. Started at the lower end of the lake, fishing some artificial structure. A few bluegill nibbles there, no hookups.
Moved up lake a few miles and fished some secondary points. One largemouth about 2 1/4 lbs. and one smallmouth about 2 lbs. Both caught on tube baits in 15 - 20  feet of water.
More news on Sunday the 22nd, after Saturday's ABA team tourney.

We weighed 5 bass for 17.45 lbs. and 4th place. 4 LMs and one smallie. Our biggest was 5.54. All LMs caught shallow on Jig and Pig. The smallie was caught on a tube off a nest.
Big fish for the tourney was 8.34. It took over 15 lbs. to be in the top 10.

Most of the females were prespawn, full of eggs and hunting for a nest. Afternoon bite was best.
