Just got my first set of three in the mail today, great looking bait, had to get a couple in Fogy Green after the how-to post!. Thought it would have more green it, mines 3/4 white with a few green strands, still looks good though.

Anyways my question is directed towards the fellows that were talking about rigging the trailer weedless, texas style, using a hitchhiker.  For the life of me I can't figure out where to attach the hitchiker.  I can get it to fit through the jig-eye hole on a chatterbait but appears to be too small of an opening to fit it through on the Vibrashock jig-eye.

Thanks

tmber8,

Thanks

I use the hitchhiker religously on the Vibrashocks, I attach it on the backside of the split ring, behind the blade.  It works great and you loose 0 action.

I have a VS question, too.

Has anyone tried a trailer hook on one?

After thinking about the tournament i fished this weekend, i started thinking about all the fish i missed that only batted at it or only bit the trailer. I caught a ton of fish, but missed probably just as many because they weren't hitting it and taking completely.

I like the hitchhiker/weedless setup though! I'll be doing that later this summer!

I've never had a problem with the fish missing it before.  seems like everyone absolutely inhales it, but I don't see a reason why a trailer hook would hurt anything.

I couldn't believe they were missing it, either. Seems like all of mine usually try to swallow it as well. But one lake i fished this weekend was crystal clear. I could SEE fish only grab the tail. Decent ones, too. I wasn't sure if they were bedding males that were just trying to scare it away or just weren't convinced they wanted to eat it.

I don't know why i didn't think to put on a trailer hook at the time. I guess i was too intent on the next cast. lo

Coonhound

Depending on the forage, any of the white colors. Bleeding shad has been pretty good to me. :D

thanks.  mostly   white and yellow perch.  bluegills and craws so im thinking the whites with chartreuse , bluegill, and brown/craw colors would work

Whatever colors normally work best for you in clear water will work good on the vibrashocks, but I recommend blue shimmer shad or fogy green are two of my favorites.  Go with the colors you have confidence in though and normally catch fish on  ;)

A baby bass ring tail worm makes a big difference in how the green in the skit shows up   :-*

Funny you should mention that, Fogy. Yesterday afternoon i bought some 'cherry seed' colored 4" Zoom ringworms to use as trailers on my white VS. lo

I thought the same thing when I received my first Fogy Green one. I agree with what Fogy said and you should also look at the amount of green flake the white strands have. I bet those bass just see a big flash of white and green then WHACK! ~gf
